Birkkala Spelt Flake Brownies

Ingredients

Batter:

150 grams butter

120 grams dark chocolate

250 ml sugar

2 tsp vanilla powder/1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp salt

2 eggs

300 ml Birkkala Wholemeal Spelt Flour

Toppings:

100 grams butter

150 ml brown sugar

pinch of salt

300 ml Birkkala Wholemeal Spelt Flakes

Directions

Heat the oven to 200 °C/392 °F.

Melt the butter for the batter. Move it from the heat. Cutthe chocolate and mix it with the hot butter until smooth. Add sugar, vanillaand salt. Mix the eggs with the chocolate mixture. Add the flour ja mix wellbut don’t knead.

Spread the batter into the pan (size apr. 17 cm x 30 cm).Bake for 15 minutes before finishing with toppings.

Melt the butter for the topping. Add the sugar, salt andspelt flakes and mix until smooth. Spread the topping on the cake and bake itfor 8 to 10 minutes until the surface is golden brown. Let the cake cool and thencut it into pieces.
